The Swedish EPA is responsible for official Swedish environmental protection statistics on waste, the state of the environment, emissions, and the application of the Environmental Code. The Agency also publishes other statistics which are not classified as official.
The Official Statistics Act (SFS 2001:99) provides that official statistics must be available for the purposes of public information, study and research.
Statistics Sweden (SCB) is responsible for coordinating and supporting the official statistical system in Sweden. For further information about official statistics and the agencies belonging to the network, see the SCB website.
