The research programme promotes standards for statistical analyses of data series, in the form of synthesis work. The result will be used in the Swedish EPA’s work with environmental monitoring.
The Swedish EPA will contribute SEK 1 million to the programme, which will run from 2009 to 2012.
The work must meet two objectives:
- Develop a standard for statistical analyses of the data series in the Swedish EPA and environmental monitoring within the counties. This standard may also be of use for other activities in the EPA, such as environmental monitoring, official statistics, international reporting.
- Investigate the possibility, suitability and function of a network of people who are knowledgeable in statistics, who can be helpful for environmental monitoring and other activities at the Swedish EPA.
