The research programme produces new knowledge for more effective environmental inspections.
The results will be used in the Swedish EPA’s guidance for supervision and will contribute to the development of Swedish environmental monitoring. Researchers will investigate how municipalities and county administrative boards implement their surveillance work. It is based on three areas:
- surveillance methodology
- management issues
- measure of surveillance results
The Swedish EPA will contribute SEK 18 million to the programme, which will run from 2009 to 2012.
