Swedish EPA – national focal point

People walking through a door. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is the government's national environmental authority with the task of implementing and coordinating environmental work for sustainable development based on the ecological dimension. Climate change is an area of high priority.

What we do

The Swedish EPA is the agency responsible for the environmental quality objective of Reduced Climate Impact. This responsibility signifies a key role in efforts to limit climate impact and for follow-up of the trend towards reduced climate impact.

International efforts

The Agency’s experts are continuously involved in international climate-related work, including the work of the IPCC. Members of our international team regularly attend international meetings under UNFCCC as well as meetings of EU groups.
