Building knowledge and awareness

The sky. Photo: Pixland - MegapixKnowledge of climate change and what can be done about it is significant both as support for decisions and for the preparedness of society and its acceptance of the measures that need to be taken to mitigate the problem of climate change. Information is therefore used in Sweden as a strategic instrument on the path to specified climate targets.

Swedish know-how

Agencies and organisations in Swedish have long experience of using information as a policy instrument. This has contributed to a good level of knowledge and awareness among the Swedish public.

Best practice worldwide

International negotiations under UNFCCC with a view to reaching agreements on reductions in emissions are important if we are to be able to limit human impact on climate.
